To enrich students extracurricular learning experiences and broaden their horizons in natural science our school recently organized a Biological Experience Camp. The activity allowed students to step out of the classroom and into a wild stream environment to conduct field surveys of the natural ecology.
During the camp teachers guided students in using the quadrat survey method for practical investigation. Students collected various aquatic organisms from the stream including dragonfly nymphs and mayfly nymphs and stream shrimp to analyze the water quality based on biological diversity. Subsequently students utilized magnifying glasses and microscopes to examine the delicate structures of these organisms to understand their survival characteristics. The camp also included a stargazing session where teachers and students observed the night sky together to learn about different constellations and experience the vastness of the universe. Throughout the process students collaborated and assisted one another which fostered a strong team spirit.
Through a series of practical experiences students not only accumulated biological knowledge but also appreciated the rigorous attitude required for scientific research and understood the importance of protecting natural ecosystems. Our school hopes that students will maintain their passion for nature and life and continue to learn and grow on their journey of scientific exploration.
