Our school's students recently participated in the "Rooftop Rice Fields" (天台米題) community revitalization project organized by the Sham Shui Po District Council. This initiative aims to explore the potential for reactivating idle rooftops in older districts through youth engagement.
The student team conducted on-site investigations and interviewed local residents to understand their actual needs. They subsequently proposed several creative solutions, including setting up leisure areas, dedicated laundry zones, and intergenerational integration spaces. This practical activity effectively enhanced the students' understanding of the current state of Hong Kong's buildings, their awareness of community service, and their problem-solving skills, thereby showcasing the integration of knowledge with social practice.
