In September, with the new school year just beginning, I boarded a flight to Finland and set off on a journey to explore innovation and technology.
First, we visited Heureka, the Finnish Science Centre—a wide-ranging, highly interactive space that covers everything from physical phenomena to space technologies and urban management. Visitors can build and operate exhibits themselves, engaging in hands-on exploration.
We also toured Immersal and KONE, learning about Finland’s cutting-edge developments from the perspectives of spatial computing/AR and the elevator industry. Guided by our tour leader, we then explored the Kalasatama smart district, a community that emphasizes smart grids, renewable energy, and waste utilization to create clean infrastructure and public services, thereby enhancing residents’ quality of life.
Next, we visited Aalto University and the University of Helsinki, speaking with undergraduates to understand the local academic atmosphere and educational approaches.
Finally, we took in many churches, markets, and natural attractions, gaining a deeper sense of Finland’s customs and urban development. As I walked the streets, a relaxed ambiance gradually enveloped me: pedestrians moved with ease, the architecture was classically elegant, and every corner of the city brimmed with rich cultural meaning—truly unforgettable. I breathed freely, heart leaping with joy, intent on imprinting every scene in my mind.
Helsinki—a city of freedom and happiness. Over these eight days, I gained so much. These vivid memories have added a brilliant stroke to my life, and I’ll carry these insights and knowledge forward as I continue along my path.
